Senior Data Engineer
The Senior Data Engineer at WPP Media will lead the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and data warehouses to support the company's data-driven decision-making processes. Additionally, the Senior Data Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure data solutions meet business requirements. Mentoring junior data engineers and fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team are also key aspects of the role.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with a Master's degree being an asset. Proven experience (5-10 years) as a data engineer, with a strong background in data pipeline development, data warehousing, and mentoring junior team members, is required. Proficiency in data pipeline tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Pentaho), strong SQL skills, and experience with data warehousing concepts are essential. Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) are also important. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, along with strong mentoring and leadership abilities, are necessary for success in this role.
WPP Media offers a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on regional software engineering industry standards for senior data engineers with 5-10 years of experience.
