is seeking a Senior Device Engineer to join our Device Engineering team in San Diego, California. This role focuses on developing and enhancing our camera product line, contributing to the advancement of Internet-of-Things solutions for residential and commercial properties. As part of a dynamic team, you will collaborate with professionals from diverse technological backgrounds to design devices, build and manufacture hardware, and implement software in an agile and fast-paced environment.

In this position, you will design, implement, and test embedded software for camera platforms, including ARM, microcontrollers, and SoCs. Responsibilities include developing firmware and hardware abstraction layers to interface with sensors, communication modules, and peripherals. You will collaborate with hardware engineers for board bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting, as well as optimize software for performance, reliability, and resource usage. Additionally, you will develop and execute unit and integration tests, perform debugging using diagnostic tools, and document code and technical designs.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience, with 5-15 years of embedded software development experience on Embedded Linux platforms. Proficiency in C++ and familiarity with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, ThreadX) and bare-metal programming are essential. Experience with embedded systems platforms, hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, and knowledge of build systems, firmware upgrade mechanisms, and low-level debugging are required. Understanding of protocols like Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, and security, along with experience working with source control systems like Git, is also necessary.
