Senior Executive, Content Strategy
The Senior Executive, Content Strategy at WPP Media is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive content strategies for social and influencer campaigns. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and clients to create data-driven, platform-specific storytelling that enhances brand relevance and cultural impact. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and reports to the Strategy Lead.
Key responsibilities include supporting the creation of end-to-end content strategies, utilizing social and data tools to gather insights, conducting social audits, and identifying strategic opportunities. The role also involves working closely with the Insights & Analytics and Campaign Planning teams to develop data-backed recommendations, collaborating with the Creative team to generate innovative ideas, and staying updated with trends across major social platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, XiaoHongShu, Facebook, and YouTube.
The ideal candidate should have a strong passion for social and influencer landscapes, a curious mindset for uncovering insights, and excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential. A strong understanding of social media platforms and digital culture is required, along with proficiency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and adaptability to new platforms and systems are also important.
Preferred qualifications include 2–3 years of experience in a KOL agency, creative agency, digital agency, or content/social role, with a background in content strategy, campaign planning, influencer marketing, or social media management. Experience working with multinational brands or in an agency-client environment is considered an added advantage.
