As a Senior Government Relations Manager in the Northeast, you will play a pivotal role in shaping public policy for this emerging industry and fostering relationships with key government and community stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Government Relations, you will support the launch of a new team, drive community outreach strategies, and collaborate across departments to advance our policy goals in key states and municipalities.

In this role, you will establish and nurture relationships with key government officials, community leaders, and stakeholders. You will develop and implement a community outreach plan aligned with Metropolis’ strategic goals. Additionally, you will review and analyze public policies in collaboration with the legal team and other departments to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Managing contract lobbyists to execute policy initiatives effectively will also be a key responsibility. The position requires the ability to travel as needed, with approximately 25% travel expected.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, communications, or a related field, along with over five years of experience in government or community affairs, ideally in a fast-paced, innovative, and policy-rich environment. Proven expertise in community engagement and relationship management, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive initiatives independently are essential. While not required, industry experience in transportation, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, or privacy policy is considered a plus.

The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $170,000 to $180,000 annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. Base salary is one component of Metropolis' total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans, and more.
