Senior Industrial Automation & Controls Engineer
The Senior Industrial Automation & Controls Engineer at Voyager Technologies, Inc. is a pivotal role within the Manufacturing Engineering team, based in Pueblo, Colorado. This position focuses on designing, deploying, and enhancing automation and control systems to support the production of solid rocket motors and energetic materials. The engineer will serve as a technical leader and mentor, with a clear trajectory toward leading the automation and controls group.
Key responsibilities include designing, programming, commissioning, and maintaining PLC-based control systems and robotic integrations across various hardware platforms. The role involves evaluating and deploying automation solutions such as robotic work cells and machine vision systems to improve safety, throughput, yield, and quality. Additionally, the engineer will design electrical systems compliant with NEC and UL508A regulations, develop plant networking architectures, and create user-friendly HMI/SCADA systems.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, along with seven years of experience in industrial automation and controls. Alternatively, a Master's degree with five years of experience or eleven years of hands-on experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable. Extensive proficiency in PLC programming across multiple platforms and experience in integrating robotic systems into manufacturing environments are essential.
