The Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Notifications/Feed at Nextdoor will play a key role on the Notifications Engineering team, driving the development of machine learning models and systems that inform and personalize the notifications and content feed experiences for millions of users. Day-to-day, the engineer will architect, build, and optimize machine learning pipelines for content recommendation, ranking, and user engagement notifications. Responsibilities include conducting deep analyses on user data, experimenting with new modeling techniques, improving feature engineering, and collaborating closely with data scientists, backend engineers, and product managers. The role will also include mentoring junior engineers and participating in cross-functional initiatives to enhance platform performance and personalization algorithms.
Candidates should have a strong background in machine learning, particularly in the design, deployment, and scaling of production models for recommendation systems or feeds. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, with several years of hands-on experience working in large-scale ML environments.
