Appier is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to join our Playable Ads team, focusing on developing AI-powered ad experiences that enhance user engagement and conversion rates for leading apps and games. This role involves applying advanced machine learning and generative AI techniques to create innovative and compelling ad creatives at scale.

Key responsibilities include applying machine learning and generative AI to optimize creative content, predict user behavior, model engagement, and generate dynamic content across various ad formats. The role encompasses the entire machine learning lifecycle, from problem definition and experimentation to production deployment and continuous improvement. Collaboration with product, engineering, and design teams is essential to translate business objectives into well-defined machine learning solutions. Additionally, the position involves conducting offline and online evaluations, A/B testing, and performance monitoring to enhance model quality and business impact. Staying abreast of the latest research in areas such as large language models, multimodal models, reinforcement learning, and recommendation systems is crucial, along with mentoring fellow scientists and contributing to the team's technical standards and culture.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A solid understanding of modern machine learning models and algorithms is required, with hands-on experience in areas such as prediction/optimization, generative models, recommendation systems, computer vision, or reinforcement learning. Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow is essential. Practical experience in transitioning machine learning models from prototype to production, including pipeline development and performance monitoring, is necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in using LLM-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT) are also important. The candidate should be capable of balancing cutting-edge research with time-to-market constraints, delivering iterative proofs of concept that validate product hypotheses and translate into production-ready solutions.

Preferred qualifications include publications in top AI/ML conferences or journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, KDD, RecSys), experience in the advertising technology or MarTech domain, and contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in research communities.
