Senior Manager, HR Systems
Metropolis is seeking a Senior Manager, HR Systems to lead and optimize our human resources data and systems architecture. This pivotal role involves managing current HR platforms, driving automation, and preparing for a future migration to Workday, enabling the People team to scale effectively. The position is based in Los Angeles, California, with an expectation of in-office work four days a week.
The Senior Manager will serve as the strategic owner of HR data and systems, driving modernization efforts and preparing for future HRIS migration. Responsibilities include identifying opportunities to leverage AI for automation, managing and mentoring a team of two direct reports, and partnering with IT to build a scalable, sustainable, and future-proof HR systems architecture. Additionally, the role involves maintaining and optimizing current HR platforms (AS400, Dayforce, Dimensions/UKG), ensuring data integrity and operational reliability, and leading HR systems projects from requirements gathering to rollout.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in HR systems management, with a proven track record of modernizing HR tech stacks. Deep technical expertise in HR data architecture, process automation, and system integrations is essential. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Leadership experience with the ability to manage, mentor, and inspire a team is also required.
The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $160,000 annually. The total compensation package may also include healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a stock option plan, and bonus plans. Metropolis values in-person collaboration to drive innovation and strengthen culture, requiring employees to be on-site at least four days a week.
