Senior Scientist, Biomarkers
Prime Medicine is seeking a Senior Scientist to lead the fluid biomarker strategy within their clinical programs. This role is integral to the company's mission of developing next-generation gene editing therapies using their proprietary Prime Editing platform. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing potentially curative genetic treatments across various therapeutic areas.
The Senior Scientist will be responsible for designing and overseeing the development, qualification, and validation of biomarker assays in collaboration with contract research organizations and external laboratory partners. Key duties include providing scientific oversight for assay selection, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and contributing to clinical protocol development and regulatory documentation. Additionally, the role involves partnering with clinical operations to facilitate seamless biomarker sample collection and analysis, as well as leading the interpretation of biomarker data to support internal decision-making.
Candidates should possess a PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Translational Medicine, or a related discipline with at least 4 years of industry experience, or an MS with 8+ years of relevant experience. Essential qualifications include strong expertise in assay development and validation, hands-on experience managing assay development at external laboratories, and a deep understanding of GCLP/GLP principles. Experience with blood-based biomarker assays is required, and familiarity with PK/PD concepts and translational biomarker strategy is strongly preferred.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $145,000 to $177,000 annually, with eligibility for annual short-term and long-term incentive awards.
