Senior Security Engineer
As a Senior Security Engineer at Nansen, you will play a pivotal role in embedding security into our rapidly scaling platform for onchain investing. Working within a dynamic team, you will ensure that our cloud infrastructure, applications, CI/CD pipelines, AI systems, and staking operations are secure from the outset, enabling us to move fast without compromising on safety.
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive security assessments across systems, architectures, and code to proactively identify vulnerabilities. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to advise on secure design decisions, deploy and maintain essential security infrastructure such as SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and endpoint protection, and secure our CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows. Additionally, you will manage secrets and key management, address security implications of AI/LLM systems, coordinate penetration tests and security audits, and drive compliance readiness for standards like SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in building and hardening production security at scale, strong cloud security knowledge (AWS, GCP, or equivalent), and hands-on experience implementing security tooling. Expertise in secrets and key management, understanding of AI/LLM security implications, proficiency in CI/CD pipeline security, and a pragmatic approach to compliance are essential. Strong asynchronous communication skills are required, with a preference for candidates in EMEA time zones. Bonus points for experience in blockchain, smart contract, or staking infrastructure security, as well as Kubernetes and Terraform security.
