Senior Software Engineer (Ad Cloud Bidding) - Tokyo,Japan

Appier is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Ad Cloud Bidding team in Tokyo, Japan. This role focuses on building and optimizing large-scale distributed systems that interconnect data and AI with our customers and users. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will ensure our backend services run reliably and efficiently through automation, monitoring, and incident management.

Key responsibilities include managing system deployment, configuration, and release pipelines, designing and managing automated deployment pipelines to ensure smooth and reliable releases, implementing monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies, troubleshooting production incidents and performing root cause analysis, participating in on-call rotations and leading incident response when required, and continuously evaluating and adopting new tools or technologies to improve operational workflows.

The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related fields, 3+ years of experience in backend engineering or site reliability engineering, familiarity with Unix/Linux environments, scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash, experience in infrastructure-as-code tools, and a proactive mindset toward automation and continuous improvement with a strong sense of ownership. Preferred qualifications include experience with cloud infrastructure, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools, knowledge of performance profiling and load testing tools, and exposure to security hardening, access control, or compliance auditing. Proficiency in Chinese is required.
