As a Senior Software Engineer at Awin, you will be part of a cross-functional, service-oriented team dedicated to extending and maintaining our Affiliate Marketing platform. This role involves designing and building reliable services by writing clean, secure, and well-tested code, adhering to modern engineering best practices. You will have a significant impact on system efficiency, technical quality, and team effectiveness, taking ownership of meaningful challenges and balancing technical excellence with sustainable product and business needs.

Your key responsibilities will include working within a small, collaborative team using agile methodologies, taking ownership of applications across their full lifecycle—from design and implementation to operation—and proactively identifying improvement opportunities and technical risks. You will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, support an effective agile way of working by facilitating team ceremonies and workshops, mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing, troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure service reliability, and communicate effectively with local and remote colleagues and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you should have over six years of professional software engineering experience, a strong foundation in object-oriented programming with proficiency in multiple languages, ideally including Java/Spring, and a passion for clean, maintainable code with a solid understanding of SOLID principles. Hands-on experience designing AWS-based systems, microservices with REST APIs, and event-driven architectures is essential. You should also have a focus on engineering quality through code reviews and testing, responsibility for maintaining CI/CD pipelines, confident use of version control systems like Git, a solid understanding of relational databases and SQL, familiarity with non-relational databases like DynamoDB or MongoDB, basic knowledge of web technologies and modern frontend frameworks, ideally Angular, proven collaboration in cross-functional teams, extensive exposure to agile processes, and an interest in using AI tools to augment software development.

Awin offers a flexible four-day workweek at full pay with no reduction to your annual holiday allowance, a monthly remote working allowance, support in setting up your remote workspace, meal vouchers, health and wellbeing insurance covering various treatments for you and one additional family member, a remote working furniture package after three months of employment, and a peer-to-peer appreciation program. Established in 2000, Awin is proud of its dynamic, social, and inclusive culture, fostering diversity and inclusion, and providing opportunities for professional and personal development.
