Appier is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend development to join the Omni-channel Journey Map (OJM) team in Tokyo, Japan. The OJM team focuses on developing solutions that enhance customer journey mapping and engagement across multiple channels.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building scalable and high-performance backend architectures for the OJM platform. Key responsibilities include leading system design initiatives, providing technical guidance to team members, mentoring junior engineers, and facilitating agile processes in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will also oversee code reviews to maintain high coding standards and drive technical roadmaps for significant projects.

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in software development, with demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and facilitating agile processes. Proficiency in building web services on Linux and expertise in TypeScript are essential. A strong understanding of network API design (e.g., REST or GraphQL), experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (such as MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis), familiarity with version control systems like Git, and experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure are required. Business-level proficiency in Chinese is also necessary.
