Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d)
As a Senior Software Engineer at Awin, you will be part of a cross-functional, service-oriented team dedicated to extending and maintaining our Affiliate Marketing platform. This role involves designing and building reliable services by writing clean, secure, and well-tested code, adhering to modern engineering best practices. You will have a significant impact on system efficiency, technical quality, and team effectiveness, taking ownership of meaningful challenges and balancing technical excellence with sustainable product and business needs.
Your key responsibilities will include working within a small, collaborative team using agile methodologies, taking ownership of applications across their full lifecycle—from design and implementation to operation—and proactively identifying improvement opportunities and technical risks. You will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, support effective agile practices, mentor engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing, troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and communicate effectively with both local and remote colleagues and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of professional software engineering experience, a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, and comfort working with multiple programming languages, ideally including Java/Spring. A passion for clean, maintainable code and a solid understanding of SOLID principles are essential. Hands-on experience with AWS-based systems, microservices with REST APIs, and event-driven architectures is required. Additionally, a focus on engineering quality through code reviews and testing, responsibility for maintaining CI/CD pipelines, proficiency with Git or similar version control systems, and a solid understanding of relational and non-relational databases are necessary. Familiarity with web technologies and modern frontend frameworks, proven collaboration in cross-functional teams, extensive exposure to agile processes, and an interest in AI tools to augment software development are also desirable.
Awin offers a flexible four-day workweek at full pay with no reduction to your annual holiday allowance, a remote working allowance to cover part of your running costs, and support in setting up your remote workspace. We provide an international culture with flexibility through our Flexi-Office and hybrid/remote work possibilities across Awin regions.
