Senior Software Engineer - Federal
Armada is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Edge organization. This role involves architecting and developing core services for the Armada Edge Platform, integrating Azure Local, OpenShift, and Kubernetes clusters, and automating the provisioning and management of physical network infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include developing robust infrastructure services that abstract platform complexity, creating unified APIs for deploying to various clusters, building custom controllers and orchestration logic, engineering Zero-Touch Provisioning workflows for bare-metal compute nodes, and integrating hardware telemetry into the platform control plane. Additionally, the role involves designing and implementing software services to automate the provisioning and lifecycle management of network devices, building automated workflows for network gear provisioning, developing tools to audit network device states, and implementing security software components to enforce Zero Trust principles.
Required qualifications include U.S. citizenship, 8+ years of professional development experience focusing on backend systems, distributed architecture, platform engineering, or network automation, expert-level proficiency in Golang with experience in building system-level daemons or high-performance API services, proven experience in writing software to provision and manage network devices using programmatic interfaces, technical familiarity with Kubernetes, Azure Local, or OpenShift architectures, deep experience with Linux systems programming, strong understanding of Docker, OCI runtimes, and L2/L3 networking protocols, and experience implementing PKI, mTLS, and Zero-Trust principles to enforce network and node security policies.
The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $157,600 to $197,000, along with equity and subsidized benefits.
