Senior Software Engineer (India)

Karat is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team, dedicated to building predictive, inclusive, and fair interviewing products for clients and technical candidates. This role involves owning complex projects on our flagship interviewing platform, making significant architectural decisions, and collaborating closely with engineering leadership to enhance our development practices.

Key responsibilities include designing and building sophisticated full-stack web applications, embracing AI-assisted development workflows, and delivering complex projects from design to release. The role also involves proactively identifying and addressing technical quality issues, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features.

The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of professional experience in developing and launching full-stack web applications and distributed systems. Deep expertise in modern programming languages such as Ruby, Python, React, and TypeScript/JavaScript is required, along with strong experience in system architecture, microservices design, database optimization, and API development. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices is also essential.
