The Senior Specialist, Client Development & Engagement at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP plays a pivotal role in supporting the firm's global business development initiatives. This position involves organizing and leveraging information about the firm's practice areas and attorneys, as well as conducting research and analysis on clients, competitors, markets, trends, and industries. The role contributes to the firm's Client Development & Engagement efforts by ensuring that work products, communications, and critical functions meet the firm's high standards of excellence. Additionally, the Senior Specialist supports the implementation of strategic plans to ensure successful growth and consistency regarding the firm's key business initiatives.

Key responsibilities include maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the firm's engagement database and other core information, such as engagement details, fact sheets, attorney biographies, deal and experience lists, rankings and awards, practice area descriptions, and client contacts. The Senior Specialist is also tasked with researching and providing analysis about clients, competitors, markets, trends, and industries. Other duties involve maintaining website content, attorney biographies, practice group descriptions, and other Client Development & Engagement and communications materials across multiple channels, including web, print, and electronic formats. The role also assists with drafting customized pitches, responses to RFPs, and other marketing materials for new business opportunities and client meetings. Additionally, the Senior Specialist coordinates firm-sponsored events, webinars, presentations, and event logistics, such as formatting invitations, tracking RSVPs, preparing name badges, preparing promotional materials, and assisting with follow-up. The role also manages the creation of advertising, posters, flyers, and other promotional materials, working with the Graphic Designer and outside vendors where appropriate. Support for Client Development & Engagement projects and other firm initiatives is also part of the role, as well as working with stakeholders in other departments and offices as needed.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in business, English, communications, marketing, or a related field. A minimum of four years of relevant experience is required. The role demands flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours as needed. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly competitive and demanding environment is essential. Strong attention to detail and self-motivation to produce accurate, timely, and complete work products are crucial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong research and analytical abilities, are necessary. Strong project management skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently are also important. Candidates should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills to make sound decisions, provide solutions or recommendations, and escalate as appropriate. The ability to interact well and build professional relationships through networking and collaboration while maintaining a high level of customer service, diplomacy, and discretion is important. Proficiency in MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel is required.

The compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 per year. The position is full-time and based in New York, NY, with a hybrid work arrangement.
