Senior Staff Engineer
Braze is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead our Infrastructure division, which supports the processing of over a trillion jobs daily. This role involves designing, building, and operating the architecture that powers Braze’s systems at massive scale, ensuring reliability and performance. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineering teams to leverage our infrastructure and launch products to massive scale.
Key responsibilities include providing leadership within the Infrastructure division and the broader engineering team, defining critical visions for our systems, gaining buy-in, and delivering long-term planning and execution. The role also involves owning the quality of our architecture decisions, partnering on the design of systems across multiple teams, and delivering solutions that satisfy compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in high-scale distributed systems development or platform/infrastructure roles. They should possess a deep understanding of system interfaces, boundaries, edge cases, failure modes, behaviors, and specific implementations. Experience leading infrastructure or infrastructure-adjacent teams in a high-scale system is essential.
For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $208,000 and $349,655 per year, with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $232,000 and $390,000 per year, including bonus or commission.
