Senior Web Engineer
Canonical is seeking a Senior Web Engineer to join its Web Engineering team, focusing on developing and maintaining web services that support the company's open-source software and operating systems. This remote position is based in the EMEA region and offers the opportunity to work within a globally distributed team dedicated to innovation and excellence.
In this role, the Senior Web Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing well-tested and documented software, debugging and resolving user issues, leading code and architectural reviews, contributing to technical documentation, and deploying and operating services developed by the team. The engineer will also drive initiatives to improve team processes and contribute to the success of products through technical advocacy.
The ideal candidate will have an exceptional academic track record, with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field. They should be well-organized, self-starting, and able to deliver to schedule. Proficiency in researching new technologies and integrating modern approaches into technical projects is essential. Experience with Linux (preferably Debian or Ubuntu), excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to travel twice a year for company events are also required.
