Metropolis is seeking a passionate and proactive Senior Workplace Experience Lead to bring energy, creativity, and structure to our Santa Monica headquarters. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on management, focusing on daily office operations and enhancing the employee experience to foster connection, culture, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, taking ownership of various aspects from vendor management to event planning, and will play a pivotal role in shaping our return-to-office experience.

Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations and guest experiences at the Santa Monica HQ, while also supporting satellite locations as needed. The role involves managing annual operating and capital budgets, tracking financial variances, and optimizing operational expenses. Additionally, the Senior Workplace Experience Lead will lead relationships with service providers and building management to ensure seamless performance, maintain inventory systems for catering, shipping, and office supplies, and coordinate workspace changes, build-outs, and potential office move logistics.

The ideal candidate will have over four years of experience in workplace experience, facilities, or office operations within a fast-paced environment. They should be a creative thinker with a problem-solving mindset who thrives on autonomy, possess strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, and exhibit an enthusiastic, magnetic presence that energizes others. Proactivity and self-drive are essential, along with comfort in managing vendors, budgets, and simultaneous projects. Familiarity with Google Workspace and project management tools is required, as well as experience executing culture initiatives within a startup or high-growth company. Demonstrated success with return-to-office engagement or office-first transitions and the ability to report on workplace engagement and usage trends are also important.

The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $110,000 annually. The actual base salary offered will be determined by various factors, including the applicant's qualifications, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location of residence and/or place of employment. The base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a lucrative stock option plan, bonus plans, and more.
