As a SHEQ Expert, you will collaborate closely with operational project leaders to oversee safety, health, environment, and quality aspects within your designated zone, encompassing the provinces of Flemish and Walloon Brabant, Brussels, Limburg, Liège, and Luxembourg. Your responsibilities include supporting project preparation, execution, and completion, analyzing incidents, and proactively enhancing the company's well-being, sustainability, and quality policies. Additionally, you will advise staff on SHEQ regulations, serve as a backup for colleagues in other zones, and seek constructive, pragmatic solutions to challenges.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a SHEQ department, with a minimum of five years in an HSE role; experience as the head of an Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work (IDPBW) is advantageous. Required qualifications include Prevention Advisor Level 1 or 2 and basic environmental management training. Fluency in Dutch and French is essential, with English proficiency considered a plus. Candidates should possess knowledge of welfare legislation and environmental management, familiarity with management systems (ISO, VCA, CO2 performance ladder, CSRD), proficiency in office tools (Excel, Word), and demonstrate proactivity, assertiveness, analytical skills, initiative, strong communication abilities, diplomacy, and teamwork. A valid driver's license (B) is also required.
