Software Developer
Verra Mobility is seeking a Software Developer to join our expanding team in Madrid, Spain. As a global leader in smart mobility solutions, we develop technology-enabled services that enhance transportation safety and efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of engineers and subject matter experts to deliver cloud-based mobility solutions to our customers.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing high-level and low-level design documents, participating in code reviews to enforce coding standards, diagnosing and resolving issues across development, testing, and production environments, and ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery of solutions. Additionally, you will provide technical support to guarantee that all functionalities are properly designed, developed, tested, and delivered according to requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline, along with over five years of experience in PHP Symfony for both backend and frontend development. A strong understanding of software engineering principles, database design skills, and experience in writing high-performance database queries are essential. Proficiency in English at a C1 level is required, and knowledge of Spanish at a B2 level or higher is advantageous.
Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS and cloud technologies, such as microservices, test automation tools, CI pipelines, and containerization technologies. Hands-on knowledge of GoLang, React, or C# is also desirable. Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and application end-users are important for success in this role.
