Software Engineer, Full Stack (Serverless)
As a Full Stack Engineer on the Serverless team at fal, you will be instrumental in developing the core product that powers fal's Serverless platform. This role is deeply product-focused, involving close collaboration with Product and Infrastructure teams to design and deliver reusable, scalable systems that enterprise customers depend on daily. You will have significant ownership and autonomy, contributing to a rapidly growing product within a fast-scaling company.
Your primary responsibilities will include building and maintaining core Serverless UI features such as dashboards, logs, observability tools, configuration settings, and usage metrics. You will design and implement backend APIs that drive the Serverless product experience, enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of customer-facing systems, and work closely with the Infrastructure team to ensure product features align with platform capabilities. Owning features end-to-end, from design through production and iteration, will be a key aspect of your role.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working across both frontend and backend, proficiency with TypeScript, Python, Postgres, and Next.js, and a track record of owning features end-to-end in production systems. The ability to context switch between UI, backend, and performance work, a product-minded approach valuing clean abstractions and long-term maintainability, and comfort working in a fast-moving, low-process environment are essential.
Compensation for this role ranges from $150,000 to $230,000, complemented by equity and a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, relocation assistance to San Francisco, and regular team events and offsites.
