Appier is seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in General Backend Development to join our Enterprise Solution team in Tokyo, Japan. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend systems. Your primary focus will be diagnosing and resolving complex system performance bottlenecks and addressing intricate concurrency issues, such as race conditions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will implement robust solutions that meet business requirements and ensure the long-term stability of our projects.
Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining backend systems using Java, Python, or Go, along with frameworks like Spring, Undertow, Flask, or FastAPI. You will collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to define system requirements, perform code reviews to uphold coding standards, troubleshoot issues, and optimize code for performance and efficiency. Participation in the entire software development lifecycle, from planning and design to implementation, testing, and deployment, is essential.
The ideal candidate has at least 8 years of professional experience as a Backend Developer, with a strong understanding of programming languages and web frameworks. Proficiency in object-oriented principles, design patterns, and functional programming paradigms is required. A solid grasp of web application development principles, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases are essential. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities are also necessary.
