Software Engineer II (AI Development)
AlertMedia is seeking a Software Engineer II specializing in AI development to revolutionize the organization's software engineering practices by adopting an AI-first development model. This role involves designing AI-powered development workflows and agents that actively participate in engineering tasks, such as generating and validating tests, assisting with code reviews, and enhancing continuous integration feedback. The position is based in Mexico City, Mexico, and requires residency within the country.
The primary responsibilities include staying current with AI tools and techniques to introduce productivity improvements, collaborating with engineers across teams to shape and adopt AI-assisted workflows, designing and building AI agents for development processes, improving local development environments, reducing continuous integration issues by optimizing test performance, and creating internal tools to streamline daily development tasks. The role emphasizes driving adoption through collaboration and practical utility rather than mandates.
Candidates should possess strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on coding experience, experience building systems or tools relied upon by other engineers, proficiency with Docker, local development environments, and continuous integration systems, familiarity with automated testing and test performance issues, and proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Python or JavaScript/TypeScript. Experience with AWS and Postgres is also required. Outstanding communication skills and English proficiency (written and oral) are essential. Applicants must reside in Mexico and have permanent residency; AlertMedia does not sponsor visas.
