Software Engineer in Test II
The Software Engineer in Test II at AlertMedia will join the AI-focused engineering team to develop and implement testing activities for the company's next-generation products and services. This role is critical to delivering high-quality, reliable software and will focus on test planning, automation, execution, defect management, and release support across web and mobile platforms. Key responsibilities include designing, executing, and maintaining automated test coverage to prevent software regressions, performing manual, exploratory, functional, and regression testing across web platforms, and identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking software defects through resolution. The role also involves executing API, integration, and performance testing to ensure platform reliability and scalability, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success teams to improve quality and troubleshoot issues, and contributing to QA strategy, processes, tools, and best practices across the organization. Mentoring team members and leveraging AI-powered tools to improve QA workflows and overall engineering efficiency are also key aspects of the position.
Candidates should have over 5 years of experience in QA, SDET, or software testing roles, with programming knowledge in Python, JavaScript, or other languages. A strong understanding of API, integration, and distributed systems testing is essential, along with experience designing scalable, maintainable automation frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Gherkin. UI automation testing experience using Python or JavaScript, familiarity with AI-powered engineering tools, and experience mentoring teammates are preferred. Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required, and a bachelor's degree is preferred.
