The Specialist, Royalty & Metadata at Provident Entertainment plays a pivotal role in managing Essential Music Publishing's song catalog, ensuring precise royalty reporting, collections, and metadata support. This position collaborates closely with creative staff, writers, artists, and the business affairs team to resolve issues, enhance data quality, and facilitate timely payments. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, adept at working both independently and collaboratively, and possesses strong proficiency in Excel and handling large datasets.

Key responsibilities include managing conflicts, appeals, asset management, and disputes related to YouTube videos and other content management systems. The role involves collecting and managing metadata such as ISRC codes, release dates, artist information, record label data, and Spotify/YouTube links for the back catalog. Additionally, the specialist assists in preparing and reviewing quarterly and semi-annual royalty statements and payments, focusing on statement processing and song matching for various royalty statements, including those from Manual, Harry Fox, ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC. Ensuring accurate payments from all societies and utilizing third-party tools like Spotify Analytics to cross-reference and verify metadata accuracy are also essential duties.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of relevant administrative and/or royalty/metadata experience, with prior music industry or music publishing experience strongly preferred. Strong analytical skills and proven experience in managing large datasets with keen attention to detail are crucial. Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and lookups, and the ability to reconcile data across multiple sources with minimal oversight are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated organizational abilities, and a self-motivated work ethic are also important. Knowledge of online digital music tools and familiarity with music file types are beneficial.
