Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer - Product Engineering
Betterment is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in New York City. This team is responsible for developing the applications our customers use to manage their Betterment accounts. Our mission is to create delightful user experiences that simplify financial decision-making, guiding customers through significant life events such as saving for a home or planning for retirement.
In this role, you will lead medium-to-large scale initiatives, collaborating closely with Product and Design teams to build and enhance our customer-facing applications. Your responsibilities will include maintaining high standards of code quality, ensuring application performance and security, and mentoring less experienced engineers to foster their professional growth.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in object-oriented programming, with a preference for Ruby on Rails, and proficiency in building frontend applications using React.js or similar frameworks. Experience with GraphQL for API development, designing relational databases, and writing detailed SQL queries is also desired. A solid understanding of fundamental algorithms and data structures, along with the ability to lead and manage cross-team projects, is essential.
Betterment offers a competitive base salary ranging from $170,000 to $195,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
