The Senior IT Systems Engineer at Betterment is a pivotal role within the Corporate Technology team, responsible for designing, scaling, and operating the company's core IT systems and infrastructure. This position ensures that employees have secure, reliable, and seamless access to essential tools, thereby enhancing overall productivity and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining identity and access management architectures, automating employee lifecycle processes by integrating HRIS with identity and SaaS systems, and administering core SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, Zoom, Lumos, and Jamf. The role also involves automating repetitive IT workflows, managing macOS endpoint fleets, and implementing IT security best practices across systems and endpoints.

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Information Systems, Technology, or a related field, along with over six years of experience in IT systems engineering, SaaS administration, or enterprise technology operations. Deep expertise in macOS administration, strong experience with Okta and modern identity standards, proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Python or Bash, and a customer-service mindset are essential.

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $121,000 to $143,000, depending on factors such as location, experience, and performance.
