Sr. Product Designer
Baselayer is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their team in New York City. The company specializes in creating a comprehensive business identity graph by integrating various data sources, including public records and financial information, to provide real-time verification and risk assessment for businesses. As a Senior Product Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the design systems that underpin Baselayer's fintech platform, ensuring consistency, usability, and scalability as the company continues to grow.
In this role, you will be responsible for end-to-end product design, from understanding user needs through research and stakeholder input to delivering polished user interfaces. You will design screens, flows, and interactions using Baselayer's established design system and component library, translating complex workflows into clear, usable interfaces. Collaboration with engineering teams is essential to ensure designs are feasible, consistent, and ready for implementation. Additionally, you will utilize AI tools alongside Figma to expedite explorations, prototypes, and design-to-code workflows, and participate in user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in UX/UI or digital product design, with a strong working knowledge of Figma, including Auto Layout, variants, components, and tokens. Attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial, as maintaining consistency across files, states, and use cases is a key aspect of the role. The ability to take direction, iterate quickly, and incorporate feedback is essential, as is proactive communication and collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams. An interest in learning design systems and scaling visual languages is also important.
Compensation for this position includes a salary range of $100,000 to $162,500, plus equity.
