Staff Full Stack Software Engineer - Product Engineering
Betterment is seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in New York City. This role focuses on developing applications that enhance the experience of financial advisors managing their clients on Betterment's platform. As a key member of the Advisor Experience team, you will contribute to building a full-service investment management platform within Betterment Advisor Solutions.
In this position, you will lead technical projects, design and implement complex systems, and guide full stack development practices. Collaborating with senior engineering leaders, you will advance Betterment's technology to achieve high performance, reliability, and an exceptional developer experience. Your work will directly impact the tools and services that empower financial advisors.
The ideal candidate has proven experience in scoping, building, and leading technical projects from discovery through release. Proficiency in at least one server-side language such as Ruby, Java, C#, C++, or Python is required, with Betterment utilizing Ruby on Rails. Experience in building interactive web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks like React is also essential. Strong technical design and architecture skills, effective communication across teams, and a commitment to mentoring and upskilling teammates are highly valued.
The position offers a competitive salary range of $200,000 to $238,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
