Staff Operations Engineer
Mozilla is seeking a Staff Operations Engineer to lead the design, reliability, and evolution of hybrid-cloud and workplace infrastructure. This senior role involves collaborating across teams, driving complex initiatives, and ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and efficient. The position is remote, based in Canada.
In this role, you will own and evolve architecture within a defined infrastructure domain, designing and implementing scalable, reliable systems that span multiple teams or environments. You will establish and promote best practices, contribute to medium- and long-term technical strategy, and lead the delivery of high-impact infrastructure projects. Collaboration with teams such as IT, SRE, Security, and Service Owners is essential to unify solutions and influence technical decisions.
The ideal candidate will have over six years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure roles, with strong expertise in VMware, Cisco UCS, application and network load balancers, Linux/Unix operating systems, networking fundamentals, and data center environments. Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Puppet or Ansible, proficiency in Python, and familiarity with observability tooling and reliability practices are preferred. A demonstrated ability to lead complex technical work across teams is essential.
