Staff Platform Engineer | Service Mesh
Wellhub is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer specializing in Service Mesh to join our Platform Engineering team in Brazil. This remote position offers the opportunity to work from anywhere within the country, contributing to the development of a global, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure that empowers engineering teams to autonomously scale our product. In this role, you will be instrumental in building a secure and scalable cloud platform using Kubernetes on AWS. Your responsibilities will include developing and evolving Kubernetes operators and other cloud-native automation tools, constructing products that enable engineering teams to manage their cloud resources independently, and establishing a multi-cluster global platform with Istio Service Mesh. Additionally, you will focus on enhancing observability, reliability, and cost awareness, support engineering teams in adopting these products and tools, and participate in defining standards, guidelines, and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have proven technical experience with AWS cloud services, Kubernetes, and software engineering, along with specific expertise in Istio Service Mesh. A deep understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem, solid knowledge of observability systems, and experience with operator-managed Infrastructure as Code, preferably Crossplane or Kubernetes Operators, are essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a collaborative and learning-driven mindset, and excellent communication skills in both English and Portuguese are also required. CNCF Kubernetes Certifications, such as CKA, CKS, or CKAD, are highly desirable.
