Staff Software Engineer, Platform Engineering
Midi Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of our platform engineering team. As a rapidly growing virtual care clinic specializing in women's midlife health, we are committed to delivering accessible, evidence-based care through innovative technology solutions. This role offers the opportunity to shape the infrastructure and tools that support our mission-driven services.
In this position, you will be responsible for setting the technical direction of core platform services, including authentication, notifications, job processing, feature flags, and shared libraries. You will lead initiatives across cloud and data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Collaborating closely with product engineers, you will enhance developer productivity through improved tooling and processes. Additionally, you will mentor team members and integrate AI tools to advance our engineering capabilities.
The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience in building and scaling production services and infrastructure. Proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, or TypeScript is essential, along with expertise in distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, networking, security, and cloud services like AWS or GCP. A strong track record in platform engineering, improving developer velocity, and mentoring engineers is highly valued. Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools and a low-ego, curious, and humble approach are also important.
The estimated salary range for this role is $210,000 to $260,000 per year, depending on experience and skills. In addition to the base salary, employees are eligible for a wide range of benefits and equity in the company.
