The Strategic Accounts Executive (Small Market) will play a pivotal role in retaining and expanding Garner's small group market clients, serving as a trusted strategic partner on plan design, cost trends, and performance.

In this role, the Strategic Accounts Executive will be responsible for managing a portfolio of small group employer clients (25 - 250 employees), focusing on retaining and upselling these accounts. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Client Success Managers to ensure clients receive exceptional service and achieve desired outcomes, serving as the client's strategic partner on plan design and cost management, establishing and managing key broker and client relationships, monitoring overall client health, and proactively addressing account risks. Additionally, the role involves partnering with internal teams to deliver reports demonstrating Garner's value and ROI, and driving improved Net Revenue Retention and other key performance indicators for the assigned book of business.

The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of fully insured and small group self-funded health plan design and benefits, with experience advising employer clients on benefits strategy and cost performance. A minimum of 4 years in a commercially-oriented consultant, broker, account management, or sales role within the employee benefits space is required. Proven success in achieving retention and upsell targets year over year is essential. The candidate should be a self-starter capable of thriving in an ambiguous, rapidly evolving, and fast-paced startup environment, with excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills. A strong desire to be part of a high-performing, mission-driven team is also important.

Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $125,000 to $165,000, with additional bonus eligibility and participation in equity incentive plans. This position is remote, with occasional travel to the company's headquarters in New York City, up to 10% of the time.
