Talent Scientist - Graduate Lead
Canonical is seeking a Talent Scientist - Graduate Lead to enhance its graduate hiring strategy by building partnerships with top-ranked universities and driving data-driven insights into talent selection processes. This role is part of the Talent Science team, which ensures the implementation of objective, scientifically rigorous, and efficient hiring processes to select exceptional talent globally. Canonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global move to open source, known for publishing Ubuntu, a widely used open-source operating system.
The primary responsibilities include establishing effective partnerships with leading academic institutions to promote graduate opportunities, creating compelling propositions to attract top talent, and conducting in-depth behavioral interviews to assess candidate motivations and behaviors. The role also involves driving talent analytics to provide real-time insights, collaborating with global stakeholders to monitor hiring activities, and reviewing hiring processes to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the position focuses on promoting diversity and inclusion by removing unconscious bias from the hiring process.
Candidates should possess an exceptional academic background with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology or a related field. Experience in hiring talent within the technology industry, particularly in graduate hiring, is essential. A data-driven mindset with proficiency in SQL, strong analytical problem-solving abilities, and exposure to psychometric assessments are preferred. Experience with tools such as Greenhouse, LinkedIn, Superset, and Thomas International/DISC assessments is advantageous. The role requires a high level of personal organization, self-drive to work remotely, and a willingness to travel to company events 2-4 times a year for up to two weeks each.
