Team Lead - Scheme Compliance

Adyen, a global financial technology company, is seeking a Team Lead for its Scheme Compliance team in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. The role is based in Singapore and involves leading a team of compliance officers located in both Singapore and Tokyo. The primary focus is to oversee card scheme rules and operational teams, support strategic business growth while ensuring compliance, and collaborate closely with other teams to identify and mitigate risks for Adyen and its customers.

In this role, the Team Lead will be responsible for aligning team tasks and projects with the organization's strategic goals, monitoring team performance, setting clear and achievable performance goals, and leading the team towards targets and required quality standards. Additionally, the Team Lead will represent the team in various work streams and products, establish strategies that align with global objectives, strengthen knowledge and education management across the global business, handle escalations from senior management, advise internal stakeholders, and liaise with external stakeholders and relevant auditors.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in the payments or credit card industry and/or second-line compliance functions, with demonstrable experience as a people manager. Strong problem-solving capabilities, the ability to define robust processes and procedures, and a deep understanding of card network rules are essential. Candidates should also possess solid interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and merchants from varying disciplines and cultures. Comfort in addressing senior management and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization are also important.
