As a Technical Program Manager at Betterment, you will play a pivotal role in the Broker Dealer and Investor divisions, driving execution, coordination, and operational clarity across highly interconnected and interdisciplinary teams. Collaborating with quantitative researchers, engineers, compliance partners, and product leaders, you will contribute to the development of Betterment's broker-dealer infrastructure, quantitative research, and investor-facing products during a period of ambitious growth.

Your primary responsibilities will include translating ambiguous ideas into structured projects with clear roles, communication channels, and measurable deliverables. You will drive alignment and foster communication across stakeholders to create accountability on delivery targets and strengthen decision-making confidence and speed. Additionally, you will maintain accurate and concise project documentation from planning through post-launch, track timeliness, dependencies, risks, and action items across multiple projects, and provide consistent, concise, audience-tailored status updates. Acting as the primary TPM partner for Betterment’s team of quantitative researchers and subject matter experts, you will provide hands-on support across planning, execution, and stakeholder alignment to ensure momentum, clarity, and follow-through.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to independently manage multiple concurrent workstreams, maintaining structure and follow-through to ensure details, decisions, and commitments are met. A demonstrated focus on execution, with experience streamlining workflows, improving delivery rhythms, and reducing operational friction, is essential. Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders and tailor messaging to the audience and context, are required. Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, building trust and driving alignment in support of shared delivery goals, is also important. Curiosity and a growth mindset, with interest in developing technical program management skills and deepening domain knowledge over time, are valued.

This role is based out of Betterment's NYC office, with in-office attendance required Monday through Thursday. The base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000, with actual salaries varying depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The total compensation package includes a competitive equity package, health, dental, and vision benefits, life and AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance, EAP, commuter and parking benefits, FSA/HSA, and a 401(k) with employer match, as well as a flexible PTO policy. This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus.
