Technologist, eDiscovery
Carvana is seeking a Technologist, eDiscovery to join its Litigation Team within the Legal Department. This role is pivotal in supporting litigation hold and eDiscovery requests, querying systems of record, and generating reports from multiple databases. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical aptitude and the ability to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
Key responsibilities include serving as the primary eDiscovery contact for internal and external technical teams, as well as Carvana's in-house and outside counsel. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining internal reports on Carvana's litigation portfolio and the performance of various Legal Teams. Additionally, the Technologist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business workflows and data systems related to data discovery, support responses to third-party subpoenas and consumer litigation, and develop processes to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
Candidates should have a tech-focused bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a highly computer-centric technical environment. Experience in extracting, transforming, and loading data from various systems is essential. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proactivity, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in documenting technical processes, basic scripting or programming experience, and excellent communication skills are also necessary. An understanding of data encryption and security practices associated with secure data transfer is important.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience with legal tools such as Relativity or similar document management systems, experience with databases like MS SQL, BigQuery, or Snowflake, dashboard development experience, and additional scripting experience.
