Test Engineer (Level 1 - Early Career)

The Test Engineer (Level 1 - Early Career) role is based at the Moses Lake Test Site in Washington, where the team is mission-driven, collaborative, and empowered to take ownership of their work.
In this position, the Test Engineer will collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and build test stands rapidly, as well as operate and maintain them efficiently once operational. The role involves working with hardware and software, mechanical and electrical systems, and testing rocket components, engines, and full-stage vehicles. Key responsibilities include designing and building fluid, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems for various test applications; operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting these systems; managing project schedules; writing test procedures; performing hazard analysis; analyzing test data; and safely operating high-pressure and cryogenic systems. Additionally, the engineer will perform everyday tasks to keep the site running, such as shipping and receiving and administrative duties.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related field, with 0–3 years of relevant experience, including internships and college organizations. Experience in creating P&IDs, integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems, and working in high-pressure or hazardous environments is essential. The role requires the ability to work outdoors for extended periods, navigate a large, spread-out test site, and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, crawling, and lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted. A passion for building high-quality systems, a positive and humble attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also important.
Compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $95,550 to $120,645 annually, with actual salary determined based on experience and skill level.
