Test Engineer (Mid-Senior)
Stoke Space is a pioneering aerospace company dedicated to developing Nova, a fully and rapidly reusable launch vehicle designed for daily flights. The Test Engineer (Mid-Senior) role is based at the Moses Lake Test Site in Washington, where the team focuses on accelerating hardware testing to enhance the reusability and reliability of space transportation systems.
In this position, the Test Engineer will collaborate with engineers and technicians to design and construct test stands swiftly, as well as operate and maintain them effectively. The role involves working with hardware and software, mechanical systems, fluid systems, and electrical systems to test rocket components, engines, and full-stage vehicles. Candidates should be prepared to stay focused, move quickly, self-direct, and learn on the fly.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or a related field, with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in creating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and experience integrating and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems are essential. Experience with high-pressure or hazardous environments is required, along with the ability to work outdoors for extended periods. Physical requirements include the ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs unassisted. A passion for building high-quality systems, a positive and humble attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also important.
Compensation for this role includes equity in the form of stock options, subsidized medical, dental, and vision insurance, company-paid life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with employer match, 4 weeks of paid time off, 10 holidays (including an end-of-year closure), paid family/parental leave, and an on-site gym or monthly wellness stipend. The salary range for this position is $109,725 to $193,620 annually, depending on experience and skill level.
