Trading Engineer - Strategy
IMC is seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Trading Engineer to join our Strategy Development team. This role is central to our trading operations, where technology, data, and market strategy converge. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing systems that power our trading strategies, developing automations to enhance efficiency, and ensuring the smooth operation of our trading activities under pressure.
Key responsibilities include real-time monitoring of system health and performance, responding promptly to market-driven incidents, and maintaining system uptime and speed during trading hours. The Trading Engineer will delve into distributed architectures to identify root causes of issues and implement preventive measures. Additionally, the role involves building tools and automations to eliminate manual processes, scaling reliability, and collaborating with traders, quants, and developers to deliver impactful improvements to our trading stack.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least three years of experience in site reliability, systems engineering, or technical operations, preferably supporting high-performance or real-time systems. Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash are required, as well as hands-on experience managing production Linux and Kubernetes environments. Familiarity with technologies such as Prometheus, SQL/MongoDB, InfluxDB, and Kafka is also desirable. A proactive, problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative spirit are essential.
The base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $225,000 USD. In addition to the base salary, all full-time, permanent positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits, including paid leave and insurance. For more comprehensive information, please visit our benefits page.
