Vice President, AI Engineering
As the Vice President of AI Engineering at Komodo Health, you will lead the development and scaling of our AI infrastructure, focusing on Marmot, our generative AI platform that transforms complex healthcare data into enterprise-grade insights. This role involves designing agent runtimes, orchestration layers, evaluation systems, and reference architectures that serve as the foundation for all product and engineering teams. You will be instrumental in establishing standards, observability, and governance required to deliver AI solutions in a regulated healthcare environment.
Key responsibilities include defining and implementing AI engineering standards, building evaluation and lifecycle governance layers into Marmot, and fostering a culture where AI-enhanced workflows are standard practice. You will collaborate closely with the C-Suite, Product, and Sales leadership to ensure that our AI infrastructure directly supports critical commercial outcomes and platform efficiency goals. Additionally, you will oversee the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems into production, ensuring reliability and scalability.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience leading technical organizations within B2B SaaS or high-scale data environments, with a proven track record of scaling revenue-critical platforms. Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and deploying AI-enhanced workflows at an enterprise level is essential. A deep understanding of data science, classical statistics, and complex data ecosystems is required, along with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into actionable business insights for non-technical senior executives. Leadership experience in building high-performing, collaborative teams in fast-paced environments is also crucial.
Compensation for this role varies by location. In the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City, the annual base pay ranges from $280,000 to $375,000. In all other U.S. locations, the range is $250,000 to $320,000. This position may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses and equity awards.
