VP, Product Platform & Engineering
The Vice President of Product & Platform Engineering at Verra Mobility will lead the strategy, architecture, and delivery of the company's technology platforms. This executive will oversee the end-to-end architecture across infrastructure, platforms, applications, and DevOps, ensuring that product teams can build, deploy, and scale customer solutions efficiently. The role involves developing a scalable, secure, and developer-friendly platform ecosystem that accelerates innovation while maintaining reliability and performance.
Key responsibilities include defining and leading the long-term platform engineering strategy, owning the architecture and delivery of core platform capabilities, and establishing a resilient cloud infrastructure. The VP will also drive the adoption of modern platform engineering practices, such as internal developer platforms and self-service infrastructure. Additionally, the role involves enabling product teams by providing shared platform services, architecture frameworks, and developer tooling, as well as leading the DevOps strategy to improve developer experience and system reliability.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (12+ years) in software engineering and platform/infrastructure leadership, including leading large-scale engineering organizations. A proven track record in building and scaling cloud-native platforms and distributed systems is essential. Deep technical expertise in cloud platforms, microservices, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, DevOps/SRE, container orchestration, observability, and API/service architectures is required. Strong strategic and communication skills, with the ability to translate business goals into technical strategy and align diverse stakeholders, are also necessary. Demonstrated success in building high-performing engineering teams and driving developer productivity in fast-paced environments is crucial.
