Accounts Payable Specialist
As an Accounts Payable Specialist at Scorpion Enterprises, LLC, you will play a pivotal role within the finance team, overseeing key processes, vendor strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position extends beyond mere transaction processing, focusing on ensuring operational excellence, strengthening internal controls, and collaborating across departments to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency throughout the organization.
Your primary responsibilities will include managing end-to-end accounts payable processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal controls. You will serve as the main point of contact for complex vendor relationships and escalations, lead vendor data management, ensure invoice coding accuracy, and resolve discrepancies. Additionally, you will partner with department leaders to improve expense workflows and reimbursement processes, drive month-end close activities—including reconciliations and accrual support—and prepare detailed workbooks. Collaborating with the Controller, you will validate monthly rebate calculations for partnered agencies and customers, maintain and optimize travel and expense, accounts payable automation, and procurement software systems, and support annual audit preparations by managing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. You will also lead or significantly contribute to special projects such as system implementations, acquisition integrations, process redesigns, and internal control enhancements, while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable and accounting experience is required, with a proven track record of owning accounts payable processes from start to finish. Experience with accounts payable automation, procurement, or ERP systems—preferably NetSuite or Sage—is essential. Strong analytical skills to investigate and resolve complex discrepancies, exceptional organizational abilities to manage competing priorities, and clear, confident communication skills to collaborate across departments are crucial. A solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals and internal control principles, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliation modeling) and Google Workspace, is expected. Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements is also highly valued.
