AI Security - Senior Data Scientist
Cato Networks is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join their AI Security team in the Tel Aviv District, Israel. This role focuses on developing AI-driven security solutions within Cato's cloud-native SASE platform, which integrates networking and security services. The company, led by industry pioneer Shlomo Kramer, has recently expanded its AI security capabilities through the acquisition of Aim Security, aiming to enable enterprises to adopt AI safely and securely.
The Senior Data Scientist will lead the end-to-end development of AI security solutions, from problem formulation and research design to model development, evaluation, and production deployment. Responsibilities include driving technical direction for ambiguous AI security problems, proposing thoughtful approaches, conducting structured experimentation, and performing deep model analysis. The role also involves designing scalable, efficient, and robust systems, as well as staying updated on advances in NLP and LLM-based systems to assess their integration into production environments.
Candidates should have over five years of hands-on experience applying NLP and deep learning algorithms to real-world problems, with a strong intuition for textual data and model behavior. Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and a solid grasp of practical best practices throughout the R&D lifecycle are essential. Proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Hugging Face is required. The role also demands experience in designing experiments, defining metrics, analyzing model failures, and a strong drive to solve complex AI security challenges with both curiosity and pragmatism.
