As an Aircraft CAD Integration Engineer at Archer, you will be a key member of the Advanced Projects group, a diverse team of multi-disciplinary engineers dedicated to the rapid development of future aircraft concepts. Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, focused on building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft to advance sustainable air mobility. In this role, you will manage the CAD environment to ensure a robust product structure and track multiple aircraft configurations for Archer’s future hybrid-electric aircraft platform.

Your primary responsibilities will include governing the top aircraft assembly part number and BOM structure, managing interface requirements models and master geometry models for all aircraft zones, and creating frameworks to track and release multiple aircraft configurations at different development stages. You will collaborate with all aircraft sub-system owners to enforce CAD cleanliness and interface control standards, develop and implement mass tracking plans within NX to report accurate aircraft-level weight and balance data, and create CAD modeling and best practices guides. Additionally, you will hold training sessions to ensure consistency in CAD modeling techniques across all aircraft sub-systems.

The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in CAD configuration management, mechanical design, or systems integration, preferably in the aerospace industry or other complex engineered systems such as automotive or robotics. A BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering fields is required. Expert proficiency in CAD, specifically NX, with a focus on advanced DMU tools, large assembly management, and Master Model/Skeleton architecture implementation is essential. A strong understanding of mass budgeting, configuration management, and systems integration, along with excellent project management and interpersonal communication skills, is also necessary.

Archer offers a competitive base pay range of $144,000 to $198,000 for this position, with actual compensation determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The company is committed to creating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces differences and supports all team members. Archer provides opportunities for professional growth and development within a dynamic and innovative workplace dedicated to advancing sustainable air mobility.
