Archer is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join our team in San Jose, California. In this position, you will design and build reliable automated test equipment for functional testing of PCBAs and modules. Collaborating closely with Design Engineers, System Engineers, and Reliability Engineers, you will identify critical operating modes and develop comprehensive design validation test plans. Your responsibilities will also include working with test technicians to build validation test setups, executing test plans, conducting teardowns, investigating device failures to determine root causes, and driving product improvements. Additionally, you will plan and conduct critical tests to validate new technologies.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in physical testing and analysis of mechanical or electronic systems against detailed requirements. Proficiency in automation design and build, particularly in automated testing, manufacturing, robotics, or industrial applications, is essential. A strong understanding of electrical circuit design and power electronics, experience with Python and National Instruments tools (such as LabVIEW, TestStand, or VeriStand), and familiarity with electrical test equipment and hand tools are also required.

Preferred qualifications include over 2 years of experience with component, system, or vehicle validation testing (such as FAA DO160 or equivalent), a solid background in electrical engineering (including active circuit design, power electronics, digital circuits, motor drives, and signal measurement and conditioning), experience working with interdisciplinary teams, strong communication and presentation skills, proficiency in CAD software for creating basic fixtures, experience with high-voltage systems and safety, and knowledge of integrated system communication protocols (such as CAN, Ethernet, RS485, etc.).
