Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California, dedicated to advancing sustainable air mobility through the development of all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The Aircraft Technician role is integral to our mission, involving close collaboration with engineers and technicians to assemble, integrate, and test electromechanical systems for our eVTOL aircraft.

In this position, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures to perform composite material layups, including prepreg and wet layup processes. Your duties will encompass bagging, vacuum infusion, bonding, cure cycles, demolding, trimming, and finishing procedures, all while maintaining high-quality standards. Additionally, you will inspect composite parts for defects and conduct necessary repairs or refinishing, ensuring detailed documentation and traceability for certification purposes.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace or automotive industry as an engineering technician. A solid understanding of mechanical and structural assembly techniques, including fastener installation, sealants, and alignment processes, is essential. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, engineering instructions, and FAA guidelines, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills, is required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the physical capability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces are also necessary.

Compensation for this role ranges from $32.00 to $40.00 per hour, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Archer offers a pay-for-performance culture and rewards performance that supports the company's business strategy.
