Applied Engineer (Solution Consultant) - Supply Chain
Celonis is seeking an Applied Engineer (Solution Consultant) specializing in Supply Chain to join their Value Engineering team in Milan, Italy. This team is a highly technical, strategic, and customer-facing group that operates at the intersection of pre-sales, analytics, and transformation consulting. Value Engineers at Celonis are hands-on practitioners who combine strong technical capabilities with consulting and stakeholder management skills to guide customers through their entire value journey—from initial demonstrations to long-term adoption and expansion.
In this role, the Applied Engineer will work directly with strategic customers to understand their objectives and key challenges, particularly within supply chain processes. They will design and prototype innovative solutions using Celonis' Process Intelligence platform, often integrating with leading AI and machine learning technologies. Responsibilities include conducting AI discovery sessions, leading hackathons, developing proof-of-value projects, and ensuring successful implementation and adoption of solutions that drive measurable business value.
The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in technical pre-sales, including defining AI roadmaps, building compelling ROI/TCO business cases, and prototyping machine learning and generative AI solutions. A strong understanding of generative AI techniques, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), few-shot learning, prompt engineering, and multi-agent orchestration, is essential. Proficiency in Python and common machine learning libraries, as well as familiarity with data engineering tools, is required. Excellent presentation skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both internal and external stakeholders are also necessary.
